Position
TitleFood Service Director
ResponsibilitiesOverall direction and supervision of all Food Service facilities and staff.
Encourage spiritual, emotional, and professional growth among kitchen staff.
Set up Food Service facilities during Staff Training/Orientation.
Coordinate meal times with program director and tripping director.
Ordering of food through vendors for all areas of camp.
Preparation and cooking of meals.
Perform daily inspections of equipment.
Maintain and repair all Food Service equipment and report items that cannot be handled “in-house” to the Maintenance Director and Camp Director.
Keep all areas of the Food Service neat, organized and free of clutter.
Refrigerators: Walk-ins, Reach-ins, Chest, etc.
Freezers: Walk-ins, Reach-ins, Chest, etc.
Dry Storage
Dish Room
Kitchen: Stove, Grill, Sinks, Fry-o-lator, Warmer, Ovens, Counters, Tables, Racks, etc.
Set standard of compliance for Food Service guidelines and rules as established in the Camper and Staff Handbooks and applicable State of Maine codes.
Enforce all rules and guidelines.
Supervise kitchen staff paying attention to age requirements for equipment used and labor laws.
Establish Food Service Staff schedules and time off schedules.
Work with Program Director, Trip Director, and Camp Director to establish meal schedules.
Work with Camp Director and Program director in coordinating Food Service activities that fall outside of the daily scheduled activity periods. This includes, but is not limited to: Lazy day, Cabin Nights, Evenings, Wednesdays, Sundays and Staff time off use of the Food Service facilities and equipment.
Assure that all dining areas are ready for campers and staff at the start of each meal.
Inventory food and equipment; give recommendations to the Camp Director.
The Food Service Director must approve of all Food Service activities.
Pay$800 per week
