Here it is! Our first newsletter is finally out! We do realize it's a little short, but we've got to start somewhere. We haven't decided yet how often the newsletters will be sent out, but our goal is to have them sent out on the 1st and 15th of every month. All past newsletters will be posted in the "Past Newsletters" page on our website. (This page will be up and running within a week.)
In future newsletters, providing help from some volunteers, we will be including more sections to help all of us Christian cooks and chefs grow closer to God and learn more about food, as well as how the two mix.
God willing, we would like to have an article in every newsletter relating to some aspect of Christianity in the kitchen. We have a variety of ideas for topics, if someone would like to write but can't think of what to write about.
Another section God has put on our hearts to have in the newsletter would be a "learning subject of the week" which could be any subject about food that sparks the writer's interest, that others could learn from as well.
Also, starting in the next newsletter, we will have a "recipe of the week" section. If anybody has a recipe that they really like and would like to share it with others, please post it in our forum. (More info on this below.) Prior to writing each newsletter, we will review all the recipes posted there and pick one to be in the newsletter.
Along with upcoming events or programs, this is all we will be including in our newsletter for now. If anyone has any additional ideas, concerns, or comments, or has a desire to help in any way, please contact us at the below address.
Lately, God has allowed for us to have a good chatroom on our website, in which we've been having two scheduled chat times per week. This coming week, on Wednesday, September 16th, we will be in the chatroom from 9:30 to 10:30 P.M. Eastern time, and on Thursday, September 17th, we will be there from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. Eastern time. This chatroom is actually open all the time, but at this point in the fellowship, it is most likely that nobody will be in there except for the times stated above. We will also be sending out a short reminder every week for scheduled chat times. Currently, the times have been varying from week to week. If you would prefer that we NOT send you this weekly reminder, you can e-mail us at the below address. Additionally, the scheduled chat times are always posted on our "chatroom" page.
As previously mentioned, we have also started a forum. In the forum, there are three sections that you can post messages in. The first is the "General" section for anything that may be on your heart that you'd like to share with your brother and sister Christian chefs. The second is for prayer requests, being self-explanatory. Finally, there is a third section for recipes. Here you can submit any recipe that you want to. One of the recipes posted here during the time between two newsletters will be put in the forthcoming newsletter.
We thank you for reviewing our first newsletter. God has truly been with us to build His fellowship to the point it's at today. If you would like to be removed from our mailing list, please send an e-mail to the address below, with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject column. If you have a friend that would like to be added to our mailing list, you can send us his/her e-mail address, but we ask that you please FIRST personally inform them that they will be hearing from us.
