What is a "Chef"?

A chef is a well experienced and educated food-service manager. It takes many years of experience to achieve this, and many of the greatest chefs in the world started their careers with a culinary education.

Once a student graduates with a Certificate in Culinary Arts, he/she may qualify for the following entry-level positions and can work their way up to being a successful Christian Chef:

  • Prep Cook
  • Line Cook
  • Banquet Cook
  • Garde Manger
  • Tournant
  • Camp Cook
  • Personal Chef

After more experience you may also qualify for further positions:

  • Chef de Partie (Station Chef)
  • Banquet Chef
  • Sous Chef
  • Executive Sous Chef
  • Assistant Food Service Manager
  • Food Service Manager
  • Executive Chef
  • Food & Beverage Manager
  • Culinary Educator
  • Master Chef
  • Food Writer/Photographer
  • Food Television
