ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary
This position is responsible for help plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals, keep the kitchen, pantries, refrigerators, freezers, dining and serving areas clean, maintained and organized, and work as part of a team to supervise program clients and volunteers assigned to the kitchen.


Essential Job Duties
1. Prepare and oversee food preparation for daily assigned menu.
2. Be willing to work weekends, holidays, and AM or PM shifts as needed.
3. Assist with supervising program guests and volunteers assigned to the kitchen and dining area.
4. Help to assign program clients and volunteers to clean, organize, and store purchased and donated foods
5. Make the best use of foodstuffs by date, labeling, and the first-in/first-out method.
6. Kitchen/dining area maintenance, which includes cleaning the kitchen, pantries, refrigerators, freezers, serving line and dining areas
7. Ensure proper quality and quantity of food served
8. Ability to maintain the Mission’s customer service standards: C.A.R.E.

9. Complete donated food log for all food donations received at kitchen location.
10. Work at other Mission locations at the request of the Food Services Director.
11. Ensure that all kitchen volunteers log in and out when working in the kitchen.
12. Complete meal count log for shift worked at kitchen location
13. Attend all Mission meetings and training sessions, as required.
Pay $16.69 - $18.93 Hourly, Benefits

Second Position
TitleWeekend Cook I
ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Duties

Be willing to work weekends.
Be willing to work holidays as needed.
Prepare and serve meals during the week as scheduled.
Make sure the kitchen and food storage areas are clean and organized.
Supervise all clients and volunteers working in the kitchen.
Monitor safety of all clients and volunteers in and around the kitchen.
Demonstrate good use of donated food items.
Ensure proper quantity and quality of food served on his/her shift.
Work as part of the team with other staff members.
Able to mentor the women and children in the shelter.
Confront inappropriate behavior from clients or staff respectfully and consistently.
Participate in staff meetings as determined by the Kitchen Ministry Coordinator.
Attend all SUGM mandatory training classes.
Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor


Non-Essential Job Duties

Complete donated food log for all food donations received at Hope Place kitchen
Work at other program locations at the request of the Food Services Manager.
Ensure that all kitchen volunteers log in and out when working in the kitchen.
Complete meal count log for shift worked
Pay $16.69 - $18.93 Hourly, Benefits
