Position
TitleKitchen Manager - Internship
ResponsibilitiesThe Kitchen Manager is responsible for the following with the Head Cook and Head Kitchie’s assistance:
• Effectively manage, coach, train and motivate staff of 4-5 cooks and approximately 15 serving staff
o Discipline if needed.
o Conduct performance evaluations
• Use sound team building methods to assure a safe and pleasant work environment
• Coordinate all kitchen calendars (time off, social, etc.) Make sure kitchen is properly staffed for every meal.
• Coordinate with programs and directors concerning special treats and party meals
• Make sure complete meals are ready on-time and served in accordance with established policies and procedures. Watch food quality, portion control, and keep waste to a minimum.
• Oversee all staff and Kamper dietary needs (gluten/vegan/allergies) and communicate with parents when necessary. This may be done by another kitchen staff member, but kitchen manager has oversite and ultimate responsibility.
• Work regularly and closely with both Kamp Director and Director of Food Services. Respond appropriately to feedback.
• Handle electronic ordering of food and supplies
• Inventory supplies using a par system
• Receive orders, making sure everything ordered is delivered. Stay within budget.
• Ensure that kitchen and dining room work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner and in accordance with established standards
• Oversee equipment function and reporting any problems with equipment
• Produce appropriate documentation such as temperature logs, production and inventory sheets, and staff schedules
• Discipleship duties
o Attend leadership meetings – Serve as the liaison between Kitchen and Kamp
o Lead Small Group for All Kitchen Staff w/ Head Cook & Head Kitchie
o Manage the teaching calendar for kitchen staff
 Set up one-on-one relationship interaction with kitchen staff
PayAVG $375 per week + Room/Board/Activities included. Pay is negotiable with experience. 3-7% Increas

TitleAssistant Kitchen Manager
ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for the following with the Kitchen Manager, Head Cook, and Head Kitchie’s(Dining Room Leader) assistance:
• Effectively manage, coach, train and motivate staff of 4-5 cooks and approximately 15 serving staff
• Use sound team building methods to assure a safe and pleasant work environment
• Coordinate with Kitchen Manager, and and directors concerning special treats and party meals
• Make sure complete meals are ready on-time and served in accordance with established policies and procedures. Watch food quality, portion control, and keep waste to a minimum.
