|Title||Summer Head Cook
|Responsibilities||Position Commitment: 5/28/19 to 7/27/19
The Camp Head Cook shall be responsible for preparing breakfast, supervising morning kitchen staff, (Assistant Cook and Volunteers), working with the Dining Hall Stewards to ensure the dining hall is ready for service, serving breakfast, preparing and serving lunch and assisting the Food Service Director as needed with all other kitchen responsibilities, during the regular camping season.
The Head Cook shall work closely with the Food Service Director but be directly responsible to the Camp Manager.
Supervise the cooking and serving of breakfast each day.
Assist in cooking and serving of lunch and dinner prep.
Assist with food delivery receipt, order confirmation and putting away
Assign the assistant cooks specific duties to perform.
Delegate responsibilities to other kitchen helpers (volunteer kitchen workers, etc.)
Make Food Service Director aware of any food or kitchen supply needs.
Assist with food service in serving line.
Direct set-up of Dining Hall arrangement (may delegate as appropriate) in absence of Food Service Director.
Prepare special meals or snacks as requested by the deans. These are to be approved through the Camp Manager.
Supervise and assist wit.h the clean-up of left-over food and the cooking area after each meal, including: stove tops, ovens, counter tops, mixers, and other equipment used.
Clean up spills as a part of the cooking process.
Sweep and mop the cooking area and food storage area at the end of every shift. (Delegate as appropriate to an assistant cook.)
Complete Kitchen Clean-up Check List on last day of each camp session, with the aid of assistant cooks. Assist with remaining camp clean up as needed.
In general, the Morning Cook will begin at 6:00 AM each day except Sunday and conclude the day no later than 2:00 PM.
Attend staff meetings.
Deliver Thank You bag to the deans at the start of Sunday’s shift.
This is a position of leadership. As such a person with a heart to mentor the other young adults working in the kitchen is necessary. Cooking is only part of the ministry. Hospitality to our guests and campers is also a huge component.
This position has the possibility of long term employment.

|Title||Summer Assistant Cook
|Responsibilities||Position Committment is 5/28 to 7/27
The assistant Cook shall be responsible for assisting in the preparation of all camp meals and other food activities, the housekeeping and arranging of the kitchen/dining hall facilities, and other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or Head Cook.
The assistant cook shall be directly responsible to the Food Service Director but ultimately responsible to the Camp Manager.
Work under the direction of the Food Service Director or Head Cook.
Assist the Cook in the responsibilities assigned to the cook.
Typical work includes:
Prepare breakfast meats such as sausage and bacon.
Prepare vegetables and fruits all meals.
Help prepare desserts for lunch and supper.
Assist with meal clean-up of kitchen such as: putting away leftovers, cleaning serving areas, stoves, microwave, mixers and food preparation areas.
Assist with housekeeping in the dining hall area.
Fill condiment containers
Prepare toast for breakfast, and breads for lunch and dinner
Assure soap and bleach buckets are fresh
Wash out island sinks after each meal.
Assist with food service in serving line.
Assist in receiving, confirming and putting away food deliveries
Assist the cook in preparation of special snacks, etc. at the request of the Camp Dean. (Special snacks are to be approved through the Camp Manager.)
Help wash all utensils, pots & pans, and equipment used in food preparation.
Be certain the deep well sinks are cleaned at the conclusion of each meal clean-up.
The morning assistant cook will begin work at 6:30AM and end when the lunch clean-up is finished (about 2:30). The evening assistant cook will begin work at 10:00 AM and end when the supper meal work is finished (about 6:30—not later than 7pm). On the days of staff meetings, the afternoon assistant cook will be expected to attend the staff meeting.
Assist with all Camp clean-up at the end of each camp session. First the Dining Hall / Kitchen then to other areas upon its completion if needed. The first aid / missionary qtrs / deans qtrs is the responsibility of the kitchen staff to clean.
