Falling Creek Camp

TitleLead Cook
ResponsibilitiesWe are a Christian-based boys’ summer camp in the mountains of North Carolina (Henderson County). The Lead Cook will come with prior experience (minimum 1-2 years) and will be comfortably aligned with the camp mission of building character, self-esteem and confidence in their camp participants. Safety is a top priority. The chosen applicants will not only have hands-on experience in preparing food for a large, diverse group, they will thrive on the spirit of enthusiasm and positivity that is a hallmark of the program.

The position dates will run approximately May 13th through August 25th, 2020. The team will be responsible to prepare three meals a day for approximately 450 campers and staff.

Pay will vary depending upon experience. Range is $850 to $1050 and includes room and board.


Requirements

Prepare, cook and present meals with high quality and safety standards while maintaining cleanliness, order and upkeep of areas and equipment.
General clean up of all food operation areas including dish washing, sweeping and mopping.
Receive and stock food deliveries while maintaining organization of food storage areas.
Communicate medical concerns to nursing staff.
Model excellent personal hygiene/grooming expectations, sportsmanship, punctuality and good manners.
Report any maintenance needs or equipment issues.
Practice safe food handling & follow temperature control guidelines (ServSafe).
Ask for help when needed.
Pay$850-$1,050 per week, plus room and board
