Alumni of the CCA Certificate in Culinary Arts have a unique opportunity to further their education as godly foodservice professionals. Certificate in Culinary Management students will learn integral lessons in management, customer service, human resources, and business operations to better prepare them for leadership roles in the culinary industry.
Prerequisites
- Completed the 1-year "Certificate in Culinary Arts" from the Christian Culinary Academy
- Students currently enrolled in the Certificate in Culinary Arts may apply for the following Fall, but must graduate prior to start of 2nd year, and must continue to maintain the following attendance/professionalism standards during their internship
- Turned in homework late no more than 5 times as a first-year student
- Had no more than 3 demerits as a first-year student (attendance/professionalism)
- Displayed high professionalism & attendance grades
- Exhibited potential to be able to assist-instruct, lead, and make presentations to groups
- Demonstrated the ability to communicate well with guest instructors
- 3.6+ GPA at Christian Culinary Academy
- Personal Medical Insurance
- Licensed and insured vehicle
- Favorable letter of reference from a current pastor detailing ability to lead group devotional discussions and pray in group settings
- Favorable letter of reference froma recent chef detailing impeccable attendance, professionalism standards, and leadership potential
Criteria for Acceptance
Applicants will be evaluated for their level of competence on each of the prerequisites. In addition, applicants will be discussed amongst staff, guest chef-instructors, and summer internship host chef for their level of reliability and competence before a decision is made. Applications will be evaluated to determine if an applicant has a heart for Biblical leadership and teamwork, and possesses long-term goals for the industry.
Finances
After discounts, tuition is about half of the first-year Certificate in Culinary Arts program. Housing and meal fees are the same as the first-year program. See Certificate in Culinary Management Catalog for details.
